Teaching For Heroes – over 7000 free lessons for the children of medics
Teaching For Heroes was an international educational initiative run in Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan when these countries got severely hit by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. We created a network of over 1000 volunteers who agreed to teach for free the children of medics fighting the crisis.
Outcomes of the initiative:
-
Over 7000 lessons completed in 4 months (>300/day in peak time)
-
Over 1000 teachers signed up to teach for free
-
Over 4000 students signed up for the program
The initiative was inspired by the success of a similar campaign run in Poland by Nauczeni.pl – #UczęDlaBohaterów
The initiative proved that the technology we built for our commercial activities can be applied very successfully in social contexts. This observation sparked the idea of creating the Social Platform.
The initiative was run in partnership with the
Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan
